Standardization of MBS Pharmacy Opening Hours

The Medical Benefits Scheme (MBS) will from Monday, 1st March 2010 standardize the business hours for its pharmacies in an effort to improve the quality of services offered to beneficiaries.

MBS pharmacies will open for business to the general public from 8:30am to 4:15pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:00pm on Fridays. On Saturdays, the Nevis Street MBS pharmacy will open between the hours of 9:00am. and 1:30pm.

During operating hours the MBS satellite pharmacies at Browne's Avenue, Clare Hall, and All Saints Health Centres will close at 12:45pm and re-open for business at 2:30pm. The MBS pharmacies at Gray's Farm and Johnson's Point Health Centres will, however, end the business day at 1:15 pm.

To further enhance the level of services offered at the MBS pharmacies, an express queue for the dispensing of a maximum of two prescription items will also be introduced from 1st March 2010. A 24 hour prescription drop off service is currently in effect at the MBS main pharmacy on Nevis Street. This service affords beneficiaries the opportunity to drop off their prescriptions between the hours of 8:30am to 11:00am Monday to Friday, and to pick up their medication the next day. MBS beneficiaries are encouraged to re-fill prescriptions five days prior to the completion of their medication.
